Basic Firearm Safety training is a prerequisite for any Massachusetts firearms license. Massachusetts is the only state that requires a license for the purchase or possession of ammunition or any modern firearm. Anyone wishing to apply for a firearms license must complete a state approved Basic Firearm Safety course taught by a state certified Basic Firearm Safety (BFS) instructor. Two of the most popular course are NRA Home Firearm Safety and NRA Basic Pistol.
Either of these courses, if taken within five years from application, will also fulfill the safety training requirement for a Maine Permit to Carry Concealed Firearms. NRA Basic Pistol is required in order to obtain a Connecticut Pistol Permit.
In addition to formal safety training we also one-on-one private and small group shooting instruction for new shooters wishing to improve their skill and comfort level.
